On May 1st the United States celebrate Law Day. May Day is also celebrated as the Law Day. The day that teaches you to be guided by the statutes of state law.
The Law Day is meant to reflect on the role of law in the foundation of the country and to recognize its importance for society. Law Day was first proposed in the 50's by the American Bar Association, and Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed May 1st Law Day in 1958. In contrast, most Countries celebrate May Day on the same date, as it is designated International Workers Day. Law day, along with Loyalty Day, was created to discourage celebration of May Day, a perceived communist holiday. |
