Lindsay Lohan: Not appearing in court on Monday
Actress Lindsay Lohan will not attend court on Monday to respond an arrest warrant issued against her. Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley will attend the court on behalf of the actress.
An arrest warrant has been issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court on Friday for Lindsay Lohan that stems from her 2007 conviction for drunken driving. It carries a $50,000 bail.
Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley said that she believes the warrant was issued as the result of a misunderstanding and that it should be cleared in court.
According to a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office, the warrant apparently has something to do with Lohan's probation.
Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to three years probation following a pair of DUI arrests in 2007. Holley said that since then, she has complied with all court orders.
Violations could include failing to complete a drug test or not reporting to her probation officer.
Lindsay Lohan pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine, no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent and one count of reckless driving.
Lohan was ordered to perform community service and undergo drug-rehabilitation treatment. She was also warned at the time that if she violates her probation she could face up to a year in jail. |
